MOUNT LAUREL, NJ – Police are investigating a suspicious death in Mount Laurel after a man was found dead at a hotel Thursday morning.
The death of a man at the Rodeway Inn in Mount Laurel is under investigation, according to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Mount Laurel Police Chief Judy Lynn Schiavone. The man’s body was discovered near a stairwell outside of a hotel room this morning by officers from the Mount Laurel Police Department, who were called to the scene just before 10 a.m. The decedent’s identity is being withheld at this time pending notification of the next of kin.
An autopsy will be performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood to determine the cause and manner of death. Meanwhile, a person of interest has been taken into custody, although no further information about them has been released at this time.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional information is expected to be provided tomorrow, police reported tonight.
