NYPD investigating anti-semitic attacks targeting Jewish group

QUEENS, NY – The NYPD is investigating a pattern of aggravated harassment and menacing incidents involving anti-Semitic remarks within the 101 Precinct. Two incidents were reported on April 7, 2023, one at approximately 2:45 PM and the other at around 9:30 PM. The first involved a 49-year-old male victim who was walking near Caffrey Avenue and Mott Avenue when an unknown group of individuals shouted anti-Semitic remarks and threw rocks at him.

A female in the group then brandished a razor toward the victim. A Good Samaritan intervened, causing the individuals to flee on foot in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported in this incident.

The second incident involved a 48-year-old male victim who was approached by a similar group of individuals making anti-Semitic remarks near Brookhaven Avenue and Beach 17 Street. The victim engaged in a dispute with the group when a male individual pushed him.

The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction, and no injuries were reported.

The Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating both incidents. The suspects are described as two males and one female, believed to be in their teens.

UPDATE: A 12-year-old boy has since been arrested for this incident.
