Cumberland Teen Arrested for Assault and Resisting Arrest

CUMBERLAND, MD – On Saturday, at approximately 3:21 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 600 block of Elm Street after receiving a report of a disturbance.

“Upon arrival, police observed the 18-year-old woman, of Cumberland, striking a male subject with her fists,” CPD said in a statement. “When officers attempted to arrest her, she resisted and was taken into custody following a brief struggle.”

She was transported to Central Booking and later seen by a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing. She was released on her personal recognizance. She now faces charges of second-degree assault and resisting arrest. The Cumberland Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
