CAMBRIDGE, MD – Police in Cambridge are searching for a group of juvenile suspects wanted for a shooting on Pine Street this wekend.
On Saturday, at approximately 11:53pm, a CPD officer on patrol heard a single gunshot coming from the 900 block of Pine St. A few seconds later, CPD received a Shot Spotter Alert for a single gunshot in the 800 block of Hubbard St.
CPD officers quickly responded to the area where the initial officer encountered three male subjects who appeared to be juveniles. The officer attempted to contact the subjects, at which time one subject fled from the officer on foot, keeping his hand in his pocket.
The officer pursued the suspect on foot for several blocks where the suspect ducked behind houses in the 700 block of Douglas St. At that time, the pursuing officer lost sight of the suspect.
Other officers who responded to the area canvassed the area in an attempt to locate the suspect with negative results. Meanwhile, officers canvassed the area of the 800 block of Hubbard St to locate any victims, damaged property, or evidence. Officers found a single spent 9mm shell casing in the roadway of Hubbard St and Robbins St.
Earlier in the night a man had been shot at while sitting in his vehicle on Douglas Street.
At this time, the suspect(s) remain unknown, and the investigation is continuing. The Cambridge Police Department asks that any victims or witnesses contact CPD at 410-228-3333 with any information. All witnesses can remain anonymous.
