WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C., Metro Police Department is investigating the homicide of a woman that happened in the early morning hours yesterday in Southeast, D.C.
Just before 2 am, officers were responding to the 1900 Block of Good Hope Road to investigate a report of the sound of gunshots. On the way to the location, officers were flagged down at the 1600 block of V Street, where they found the victim inside a vehicle. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, later succumbing to her injuries.
33-year-old Latanya Campbell, of D.C., was identified as the victim.
