NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in locating a red minivan involved in a shooting incident that occurred on Monday, at around 4:57 PM. The event took place at West 33 Street and Mermaid Avenue, within the confines of the 60 Precinct.
Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers discovered four individuals with gunshot wounds. The victims, a 26-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the left leg, a 22-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the right thigh, a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the right leg, and a 25-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the left foot, were all transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation determined that an unknown individual in a red minivan discharged a firearm at the individuals who were standing in front of 3222 Mermaid Avenue. The vehicle fled the location in an unknown direction. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
