NEW YORK, NY – Irvin Cartagena, known as “Green Eyes,” pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute heroin, fentanyl, and fentanyl in the Southern District of New York.
Cartagena was involved in the distribution of the fentanyl-laced heroin that resulted in actor Michael K. Williams’ overdose death.
Cartagena was part of a drug trafficking organization (DTO) in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.
On September 5, 2021, members of the DTO sold Michael K. Williams the heroin laced with fentanyl and a fentanyl analogue, with Cartagena executing the transaction. Cartagena, 39, pled guilty to one count of conspiracy and admitted that the substances he distributed resulted in Williams’ death.
