NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery at a store on Broadway. On Sunday, April 2, 2023, at around 2:07 pm, a 25-year-old male employee was working at Millennium Smoke and News located at 2345 Broadway when an unknown male entered the store and threatened him with pepper spray.
The suspect demanded money from the cash register and attempted to use the pepper spray on the employee.
The victim handed over approximately $1,000 in cash and $500 worth of products to the perpetrator, who then fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on Broadway toward 86 Street. No injuries were reported from the incident. The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, approximately 25 years old, 5’8″ tall, and weighing 120 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown sweat suit and a black vest.
