15-year-old shot multiple times in Columbia

COLUMBIA, MD – Howard County police are currently investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred overnight in Columbia, leaving one person injured. At approximately 1:55 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a parking lot in the 10400 block of Hickory Ridge Road after receiving reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was promptly transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he is currently receiving treatment and is considered stable. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being investigated, but police do not believe the incident was random.

As the investigation continues, detectives are seeking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious. Authorities are also reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and residences for additional leads.
