Westmoreland County machinist wins a million dollars on lottery ticket

NORTH HUNTINGTON, PA – Pennsylvania Lottery officials and AccuServ Pharmacy, a Lottery retailer, presented a commemorative check to the winner of the $1 million Millionaire Maker Scratch-Off ticket today. The check presentation was held at AccuServ Pharmacy, 8731 Route 30, North Huntingdon, where the winning ticket was sold. The store receives $5,000 for selling the winning ticket.

Nick Pletcher of Westmoreland County shared that he is a single father of two young children. He was extremely surprised when he found out he won $1 million after scratching the ticket at the pharmacy while he was waiting for his prescription to be filled.

“It just feels really good! I was speechless. I couldn’t believe it,” said Pletcher. “I first thought about my two kids. They came to my mind first, and I just felt relief.”

As a machinist for 18 years, Pletcher said he’s very busy. He said playing Pennsylvania Lottery Scratch-Offs is a fun way to entertain himself when he’s not working.

“Most of the days I’m cleaning the house or running my kids to hockey practice,” said Pletcher. “This prize means a great future for my family, and maybe some nice family vacations.”
