NEW YORK, NY – Police with the city’s 72nd Precinct are investigating a subway attack that ended with one man being pushed into the side of a moving train as it entered the 59th Street subway station in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood.
According to police, at around 6 pm on Sunday, a 36-year-old man was standing on the platform of the northbound R line when an unidentified male suspect pushed him forcibly into the side of a moving train.
“The victim made contact with the train and then fell onto the platform,” the NYPD said today. “He never made contact with the track roadway. The victim sustained multiple lacerations and bleeding to the head.”
The victim was transported by EMS NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene. Police say the attack was unprovoked. The suspect was described as a male with a light complexion.
No arrests have been made.
