Bronx man shot during armed robbery at gas station

NEW YORK, N Y – A Bronx man was fueling his vehicle at a Bronx gas station when a suspect tried to rob him. That led to an altercation that involved spraying gasoline and a shooting.

According to detectives with the 46th Precinct, on Friday, shortly after midnight, the victim, a 51-year-old male, was at the Gulf Gas Station located at 1805 Webster Avenue pumping gas into his vehicle.

“An unidentified male individual drives up to the pumps in a white Mercedes Benz, exits his vehicle, approaches the victim, and attempts to remove his chain from around his neck while pointing a firearm,” police said.

The man then sprayed his attacker with gasoline before being shot in the face by the suspect. The suspect got back into his car and fled the scene.

The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

No arrests have been made.

The suspect was described as a male with dark complexion, approximately in his 30’s, thin build, 5’11” tall, and 180 to 190 pounds.
