ORANGE, NJ – An 8-month-old baby was the latest carjacking victim as vehicle thefts and carjackings continue to plague New Jersey. On Monday, a car left running outside a preschool in Orange was taken by a brazen criminal.
What the criminal didn’t know at the time was that there was a baby in the back seat of the car. Police immediately began a countywide search for the vehicle, which was later found on Conover Terrace.
The baby was found inside the car, alone but unharmed.
At this time, there are no suspects identified and no arrests have been made.
The carjacking is one of many contributing to a crime wave that has state and local officials on edge in 2022.
