When you think of New Jersey, most people think of crowded urbanized cities, but New Jersey has a lot to offer, from mountains in the northwest to farmlands to the south to the Jersey Shore on the east coast. Each year, millions of people visit the Jersey Shore.

But according to an article published by Farandwide.com. there’s one spot that’s considered the most overrated, and we’re not so sure we agree.

According to Far and Wide, the Jersey Shore is the most overrated tourist destination. Surely, this was written by somebody not from New Jersey as we all know that American Dream Mall is the most overrated attraction in the state.

“We bet you expected this to be considered the worst of New Jersey, especially since MTV’s “Jersey Shore” has prominently showcased the worst aspects of the area. But we will say that while, yes, parts of The Shore are as tacky as what’s shown on the reality show, the farther south you go “Down the Shore,” the better it gets. (Cape May is especially lovely.),” they wrote.

In addition, the article goes further, saying the Jersey Shore is dirty, dingy, smelly and awful.

The article says New Jersey’s state and federal parks are the most underrated. Perhaps that could be true, but two of the most popular state and national parks are, you guessed it, at the Jersey Shore. Sandy Hook is a national park and Island Beach State Park is a state park. Both are packed with tourists all summer long.

We’re not sure if dissing the beautiful Jersey Shore is an uneducated diss or simply click-bait.
