CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department has issued the following police blotter reports regarding incidents that involved police response over the past several days. These incidents were reported and released as-is by the department. The CPD responds to numerous calls per day for police service. This list does not represent all calls for service during that period. The CPD reminds residents that all suspects listed in this police blotter are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On Friday, August 19, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Daniel Monrose Jr. The warrant was issued as a result of Monrose violating his probation. He was originally charged with Concealing a Dangerous Weapon and CDS Possession-Not Marijuana. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

TRESPASSING ARREST
On Friday, August 19, 2022 at approximately 8:15 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the Frederick Street Parking Garage for a trespassing complaint. Daniel Gibson was located inside the garage. He has been told on numerous occasions to not be on the property. Gibson was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was later released on a criminal citation.

ARREST WARRANT SERVED & ASSAULT ARREST
On Friday, August 19, 2022 at approximately 6:00 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 700 block of Yale Street for an assault. Police contacted the residents. It was reported that Jami Anderson assaulted another occupant of the house. After further investigation, Anderson was arrested and transported to the police station for processing. Anderson was also served with an arrest warrant. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for her initial appearance. Anderson was released on a $7,500 unsecured personal bond for the on-view charges and she was released on her personal recognizance for the warrant charges.

BENCH WARRANT SERVED
On Saturday, August 20, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Deborah Lynddane. The warrant was issued as a result of Lynddane failing to appear in court on August 18, 2022. She was originally charged with Failing to Send Child to School. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for her initial appearance and released on her personal recognizance.

ASSAULT ARREST
On Saturday, August 20, 2022 at approximately 5:03 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 300 block of Columbia Street for a female stating that she needed help. Police contacted the resident who reported that Ashley Tilson came to the residence and pushed her down the stairs. Tilson then continued to punch and kick the victim. Officers observed injuries to the victim that were consistent with her statement. After further investigation, Tilson was arrested and transported to the police station for processing. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $3,000 bond.

ASSAULT ARREST
On Saturday, August 20, 2022, at approximately 5:49 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to Canal Place in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, police contacted the caller as well as other witnesses. It was reported that a female was observed to be in distress and crying along the canal tow path. A witness observed a male subject, later identified as Nathan Tallman, strangle the female. A witness attempted to intervene and was assaulted by Tallman. Officers began searching the area in an attempt to locate Tallman and the female. An officer heard a female yelling for help and ran towards the location. The officer then located Tallman currently strangling the female. The officer attempted to place Tallman under arrest and was assaulted by Tallman. A struggle ensued between the officer and Tallman. Tallman was able to escape from the officer and fled towards the Potomac River. Tallman then swam across the river to West Virginia. The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the situation and a deputy responded. Tallman was located laying in the grass along the river. Tallman again fled from officers and entered the river. Officers entered the river and were able to pull him from the river after struggling with Tallman again. Tallman was arrested and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany Detention Center without bond.

BURGLARY ARREST
On Sunday, August 21, 2022, at approximately 11:11 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Baltimore Street business for a breaking and entering complaint. Police contacted the caller who reported that she arrived at the facility to work. She explained that when she went to retrieve the keys for the secured rooms, she was approached by a dog who began barking at her. She then observed an unknown male, later identified as Gerald Knorr Jr, inside the building. She then called the police. Knorr was later located at a different location and positively identified as the suspect. After further investigation, Knorr was arrested and transported to the police station for processing. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance and released on his personal recognizance.

On Sunday, August 21, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Nicholi Sneden. The warrant was issued as a result of Sneden failing to appear for his court case on July 5, 2022. He was originally charged with Driving without a License. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on his personal recognizance.

On Monday, August 22, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on James Roy. The warrant was issued as a result of Roy failing to appear for his court case on June 24, 2022. He was originally charged with Driving without a License. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on his personal recognizance.
