Turtle Jam: New York State Police Officer Escorts Large Turtle to Safety

MEXICO, NY – State Troopers in Mexico, New York protect and serve, even those with four legs and a half-shell.

This week, officers from Troop C were assisting with a large escort vehicle through the village of Mexico when they encountered a large snapping turtle causing a traffic jam.

“Troopers were able to get the reptile over to the grass and toward a body of water. Thanks to Troopers Craig Sicina and Aga Dembinska,” the agency said.
