NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Police Department has issued a traffic alert for the city ahead of Sunday’s Taste of Newark event.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY – Street Closures Announced for City of Newark’s “Taste of Newark” Summer Initiative – Sunday, August 21, 2022
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s “Taste of Newark” Summer Initiative.
Beginning from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Sunday, August 21, 2022
Ferry Street between McWhorter and Merchant Streets. No vehicular traffic traveling eastbound and westbound. Vehicles will be allowed to travel northbound and southbound along intersecting streets between Lafayette and Market Streets.
Mulberry Street between Lafayette Street and Market Street.
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes. Cross traffic will be allowed on side streets.
The City of Newark’s “Taste of Newark” Summer Initiative will also be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022, and Sunday, September 18, 2022. The above street closures will be in effect on the remaining, upcoming dates of this event.
