South River Crime Report: Here's What Happened

SOUTH RIVER, NJ – The South River Police Department on Monday released reports about several incidents that occurred in the community in July. The following incidents were reported, but do not represent all incidents responded to by police during this period.

WARRANT ARREST, Whitehead Avenue on 7/18 @ 1425 hours – After patrol units responded to an unrelated incident, a male and a female were each placed under arrest on outstanding contempt of court arrest warrants. Ptl. Daniel Auciello and Ptl. Patrick Molina were the arresting officers.

SHOPLIFTING, Prospect Street on 7/22 @ 1805 hours – A report was taken for shoplifting from a business. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Edward Dumas at 732-254-9002 ext. 139.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT, Main Street on 7/23 @ 0911 hours – Patrol units and EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles. One individual was treated for minor injuries.

THEFT, George Street on 7/23 @ 1030 hours – A report was taken for the theft of a license plate from a trailer. The incident remains under investigation.

MULCH FIRE, Brick Plant Road on 7/24 @ 1615 hours – Patrol units and South River Fire Department responded to a mulch fire. The fire was subsequently extinguished.
