NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Police Department said a child who was walking to the Harriet Tubman Schoool was approached by a subject twice, urging him to get inside his car. Now the police are searching for the driver of a vehicle pictured in photos released by the department.
“At approximately 7:50 a.m., the suspect followed an 11-year-old male and twice urged him to get into his vehicle while the victim was walking to Harriet Tubman School, at 504 South 10th Street. The victim refused, and the suspect continued driving southbound on South 10th Street,” police reported.
According to the Newark Police Department, detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect. He is described as a dark-skinned black male in his late 40’s, with a bald head and beard. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a gray Nissan with black rims.
