Baltimore Police Make Arrest in Shooting of 52 Year-Old Man

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – The Baltimore Police Department has made an arrest in the shooting of a 52 year-old man on July 2nd. 53-year-old James Donald Wilkes of Baltimore was arrested and charged with attempted 1st-degree murder.

It is believed that Donald Wilkes shot the 52 year-old man in the leg on the 600 Block of North Eutaw Street in Central Baltimore.

According to investigators, “On July 2nd at approximately 6:45 p.m., an off-duty BPD officer was driving in the area of the 600 block of North Eutaw Place, when the officer observed a suspect shoot at a victim. The officer called for assistance and gave chase and the suspect was apprehended a short time later by Central district patrol officers without incident. Central district officers located a 52-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg in the 600 block of Eutaw Place. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Central District Shooting detectives responded to the scene and assumed control over the investigation.
