Teen Charged after Motor Vehicle Collision with Pedestrian

FAIR LAWN, NJ – A 17-year-old has been charged after a motor vehicle crash left a Fair Lawn man critically injured Wednesday night. The incident took place at around 10 pm inside a parking lot at Memorial Park along the Passaic River.

The 33-year-old male victim suffered critical head trauma and was thrown into the area, according to Sgt. Brian Metzler of the Fair Lawn Police Department. The victim was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

Police did not go into detail about the incident but said the crash was determined to be caused by reckless and careless driving. The teen was released with a summons and The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Fatal Accident Investigation Unit is conducting a further investigation.
