HOWARD COUNTY, MD (PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT) – Chief Gregory Der presented his Chief’s Award to three HCPD officers and three Long Reach High School and county staff for their life-saving treatment of a stabbing victim at the school in early May. This unique award recognizes the great work of HCPD members and those in the community.
These six award recipients quickly rendered aid to the victim, who had been stabbed in the parking lot of the school. EMS personnel and doctors praised their immediate action and credited them with helping save the victim’s life. A month later, the victim was able to walk across the stage at the school’s graduation.
