15-Year-Old Shot by Another 15-Year-Old in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Police in Atlantic City are investigating a shooting involving two 15-year-old males, in which one pulled a gun and shot the other.

According to police, on Sunday, at 6:48 PM, patrol officers responded to the 600 block of North Raleigh Avenue in reference to a male that was shot.

“Arriving officers located a shooting victim, 15, of Atlantic City suffering from a single gunshot wound. Officer Joseph Kelly Jr. acquired information on the suspect, a 15-year-old male from Atlantic City, and broadcasted that information to responding units. The victim was subsequently transported by ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury,” police said.

According to police reports, at 7:13 PM, Officers LaQuay Green and Wahab Malik, stopped a male matching the description of the suspect in the area of Ohio Avenue and Bacharach Boulevard. The officers located a loaded handgun on the male and placed him in custody without incident. Further investigation by detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit identified the male as the shooter, which led to criminal charges being filed against him.

The juvenile was remanded to the Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Facility. All charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
