Pemberton Drug Dealer Convicted of Selling Fentanyl Laced Heroin that Killed Customer

PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A Pemberton Township drug dealer is going to prison after being convicted for causing the death of a customer she sold fentanyl-laced heroin to in 2017.

After the jury gave their decision before Judge John J. Burke III, J.S.C., McGuigan was immediately taken into custody and will be detained pending sentencing. Sentencing is scheduled for April 29.

“The investigation began the morning of May 30, 2017, after the decedent, 25, was discovered in her Pemberton Township home by a family member,” the prosecutor’s office reported. “An autopsy performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood indicated the cause of death was due to heroin and fentanyl toxicity.”

An investigation revealed that the victim purchased drugs from McGuigan a short time before she fatally overdosed.
