Columbus Police Say Police Impersonator Gave Victim an Indecent Proposal

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Police Department has reported an incident involving a man impersonating a police officer harassing a female victim. According to the department, Jason D. Bridenstine was charged with a felony of impersonating a police officer.

On Friday, Bridenstine, according to police was impersonating a police officer and threatening to charge a female with a felony crime unless she performed various sexual acts with him.

“On 3/4/2022, Columbus Division of Police’s PACT Unit, arrested Mr. Jason D. Britenstine during an operation. During the incident, Mr. Britenstine Impersonated a Law Enforcement Officer,” the Columbus Police Department said in a statement. “Mr. Britenstine threatened to charge the victim with a felony crime and attempted to coerce the victim to submit to a sex act in exchange for her freedom. The PACT Unit arrested Mr. Britenstine for Impersonating a Peace Officer, a felony of the third degree. The PACT Unit is seeking additional felony charges in a future indictment.”
