FT. LAUDERDALE, FL – A Ft. Lauderdale family who lost their home in camper fire have found temporary accommodations and support, thanks to a community wide effort.
“The stranded family of five is now able to successfully and safely be relocated to their home in Ft. Lauderdale following the swift and generous outpouring from our community,” the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office said. “A special thank you to the Vero Beach Wal-Mart for providing clothing and food for the family.”
A family of five from Ft. Lauderdale had been left stranded in Indian River County after their camper caught fire. The family had been out swimming on a nearby island and when they returned to camp, found their camper ablaze.
“The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call, as has Red Cross, to provide some assistance for the family. However, the family lacked transport home to Ft. Lauderdale,” the IRSO said.
