Armed robbery suspect arrested in Winslow Township

WINSLOW TWP, NJ – On 11/08/2021 Winslow Twp Officers were dispatched to an armed robbery that had occurred in the wooded area near Westbury Dr and SH 73. Officers met with the 18y/o victim who reported that an unknown male pointed a handgun at him and demanded that he turn his motorcycle over to him. Fearing for his life, the victim gave the suspect his motorcycle.

Winslow Twp Detectives followed up on this incident and conducted a thorough investigation. As a result of their investigation, Tyler Mcguirl was developed as a suspect. Tyler Mcguirl was subsequently charged with First degree armed robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. Tyler Mcguirl’s whereabouts were unknown when the initial charges were filed.

On 11/17/2021 information was obtained as to the whereabouts of McGuirl. With the assistance of Mt. Ephraim PD, Haddon Twp PD, Gloucester Twp PD, and the Camden County Sheriffs Dept., Mcguirl was located. Mcguirl fled the area on foot and was subsequently located hiding in a wooded are by Ptl. Rauscher of CCSD, and his K-9 partner “Recchi”. Mcguirl faces additional charges stemming from the foot pursuit.

The stolen motorcycle was recovered by Detectives at a location in Camden City.

Mcguirl was sent to the Camden County Correctional Facility after being processed.
