ISLAND BEACH STATE PARK, NJ – The United States Coast Guard reported that a boater discovered a dead body floating in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Island Beach State Park on Thursday. The incident was reported at 5:30 p.m., according to Petty Officer Kimberly Reaves. The body was found approximately two miles off the coast of Island Beach State Park in Ocean County.
The Barnegat Light Coast Guard Station responded and recovered the body.
The Coast Guard said the Glen Rock Police Department is conducting an investigation but did not elaborate. It is suspected that the body has been identified as being linked to Glen Rock in some way. The body was not immediately identified.
