New Jersey Acting Attorney General Andrew Buck has big shoes to fill. Buck is the interim replacement of former Attorney General Gurbir Grewal. If you remember, during the pandemic, Grewel was the brute force behind Governor Phil Murphy’s business closures and indoor masking mandates.
Three times each week, New Jersey Police Superintendent Patrick Callahan would read off Grewal’s naughty lists of businesses that were prosecuted for violating public health and safety measures.
Although New Jersey has no indoor mask mandate at this time, Governor Phil Murphy and the New Jersey Department of Health insist verbally that when you’re indoors, whether you’re vaccinated or not, you should wear a face mask.
That holds true for New Jersey’s schoolchildren who are forced to wear facemasks for up to 7 hours per day across the state. It doesn’t hold true however for the elites within Murphy’s inner circle. This week, Murphy was blasted for the blatant disregard for public health and safety at an event hosted at the Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park.

Garden State Equity, an LGBTQ+ rights organization hosted its annual Equity Ball. Although the event required all participants to be vaccinated, Murphy’s guidelines still call for individuals from different family units or ‘bubbles’ to wear face masks indoors, whether or not they are vaccinated.
It turns out, the Governor’s top law enforcement official, who is responsible for enforcing and prosecuting COVID-19 protocol violations was also at the event and breaking COVID-19 guidance.
“Tonight, I was honored to join @GovMurphy along with LGBTQ+ advocates, community members, and public officials from across New Jersey for @GSEquality ‘s annual Equality Ball,” Bruck said. “Proud to be part of a community committed to equal justice for every resident of this state.”
Equal justice perhaps, but there are different rules for New Jerseyans. There are rules for the Democrat elites such as Bruck, Murphy, and the NJEA than those the general public are expected to follow, especially school children.
As Jack Ciattarelli said at the second debate between himself and Murphy, this is a failure of leadership. Instead of leading by example, the Murphy administration, like progressives who enforce mask mandates across the country have presented another “Do as I say, not as I do” example of liberal privilege.
How can the Attorney General’s office prosecute a single COVID-19 case, such as the one against defiant gym owners in Bellmawr when they don’t even follow the rules they are enforcing?
Also in attendance were groups of educators. Those educators who clamored for protection against COVID-19 carrying children had no problem showing up for an event that if Republicans did it, Democrats would call it a “superspreader’ event.
