Cocaine dealer arrested after three week operation by HCPO

UNION CITY, NJ (HCPO NEWS) – On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, following a three-week long investigation, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force arrested a Bergen County man leading to the seizure of nearly 260 grams of cocaine and an illegal handgun.

At approximately 6 p.m., detectives initiated an investigative stop of George Suarez, age 36, of Lodi, in the area of 29th Street and Summit Avenue in Union City. During the stop, Suarez was found to be in possession of nearly 60 grams of cocaine. A subsequent search of Suarez’s residence in Lodi resulted in the seizure of approximately 200 additional grams of cocaine and a .380 caliber handgun.

Suarez been charged with two counts of Possession of CDS (Cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10A(1), a crime of the third degree; Possession of CDS With Intent to Distribute (Cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5A(1) and N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(2), a crime of the second degree; Possession of CDS With Intent to Distribute (Cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5A(1) and N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(1), a crime of the first-degree; Possession of CDS With Intent to Distribute (Cocaine) Within 500 Feet of Public Property in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7.1, a crime of the second degree; three counts of Possession of CDS With Intent to Distribute (Cocaine) Within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7, a crime of the third degree; Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Narcotics Offense in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4.1A, a crime of the second degree; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4A(1), a crime of the second degree; Certain Persons Not to Possession a Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-7A, a crime of the fourth degree; Possession of CDS With Intent to Distribute (Marijuana) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5A(1) and N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(11), a crime of the third degree.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the Secaucus Police Department, the Secaucus Police Department K-9 Unit, and the Lodi Police Department, with the investigation and arrest.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
