LOS ANGELES, CA – Gas prices under President Joe Biden continue to soar upward, but in Democrat-led California, gas prices in some cities just surpassed the $5 mark. In Los Angeles, the price for premium gasoline is hovering between $4.80 and $5.36 per gallon, leaving travelers paying more at the pump. Californians now pay more for a gallon of gas than any other state in the country.
According to AAA, as of earlier this week, the national average per gallon of gas is $3.18. In California, the average price for regular is $4.39.
Why is gas in California so expensive?
Californians pay a gas tax that is a staggering 81 cents per gallon. The state also requires fuel makers to inject their gasoline with additives that make it burn cleaner. The cost of those additives are passed on to the consumer. It’s all about clean air and the majority progressive state’s anti-global warming political agenda.
