Paterson man arrested for sexually abusing teen over two year period

PATERSON, NJ – Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces the arrest of Noe Hernandez-Quintana, 37 years old, from Paterson, New Jersey. Mr. Hernandez-Quintana was arrested on July 28, 2021 after an investigation conducted by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.

Mr. Hernandez-Quintana is charged with one count of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and one count of third-degree Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact. On June 7, 2021 the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office received information from the Division of Child Protection and Permanency that a fifteen-year-old child disclosed being sexually abused by Mr. Heranadez-Quintana when the child was fourteen and fifteen years old.

Special Victims Unit detectives interviewed the victim and multiple witnesses. The investigation revealed that Mr. Herendez-Quintana sexually abused the victim on multiple occasions at a residence in Passaic between 2019 and 2020.

The sentencing exposure on first degree Aggravated Sexual Assault is ten to twenty years in New Jersey State Prison, with 85% of the sentence to be served before parole pursuant to the No Early Release Act; on second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child it is five to ten years in New Jersey State Prison, and on third-degree Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact it is three to five years in New Jersey State Prison.

If convicted, Mr. Hernandez-Quintana is subject to Parole Supervision for Life and Megan’s Law registration requirements. Mr. Hernandez-Quintana is presently detained at the Passaic County Jail. The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion for the pretrial detention of the defendant which will be heard before a Superior Court Judge on a date and time to be determined by the court.
