Last year, Governor Phil Murphy implemented a COVID-19 travel advisory and mandatory quarantine for travelers. The truth is, nobody followed that advisory to begin with, but today, Murphy announced that the largely ignored executive order has been lifted.

Domestic travelers visiting in and out of New Jersey will no longer be required to quarantine. The governor said New Jerseyans should pay close attention to foreign travel restrictions before traveling outside of the United States and to be aware of travel advisories and health protocols in those countries when traveling abroad.
Throughout the pandemic, Murphy added and removed states from his list which at times created animosity between residents of each state and paranoia for residents living in the state. The executive order was one of the most ignored of the governor’s record 240 executive orders.
