Woman carjacked by man with gun in Claymont

CLAYMONT, DE – The Delaware State Police have reported a carjacking involving a woman who was taken out of her car at gunpoint.

The Delaware State Police are investigating a carjacking that took place at the intersection of Philadelphia Pike and Harvey Road early this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m., Monday, March 15, 2021, when a 20-year-old victim operating a blue Ford Fiesta was stopped in the left turn lane of northbound Philadelphia Pike at Harvey Road. The victim was approached by an unknown suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded her out of the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male approximately 5’3”-5’5” tall wearing dark clothing and a mask.

The stolen blue Ford Fiesta has not been located at this time.
