Men who killed 15-year-old Tuscon boy caught by police

TUSCON, AZ – Two men who shot and killed a 15-year-old Tuscon boy days before Thanksgiving are in custody today.

On November 20, 2020, just before 3:00 a.m., officers from Operations Division South and members of the Tucson Fire Department were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Missouri St. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male in the area with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. Tucson Police and Tucson Fire rendered aid to the male, however; he was pronounced deceased on scene shortly after their arrival.

The deceased male was identified as 15-year-old Adam Lopez.

As Homicide Detectives continued their investigation, probable cause was established on 21-year-old Alejandro Miguel Romero and 25-year-old Steven Ricardo Vallejo for the incident that resulted in the death of 15-year-old Adam Lopez. On December 9, 2020, officers from Operations Division South/Community Response Team located and arrested Romero and Vallejo on Tucson’s Southside.
