TOMS RIVER, NJ – 30,000 people in Ocean County remain without power as of midnight last night and JCP&L says some may not see service for two days.
“Crews are working to restore about 30,000 customers without power due to today’s severe storm, down from about 85,000 total customers impacted. The majority of these customers are located in Ocean County,” the company said Wednesday night. “There are numerous trees down and hundreds of damage locations. We also have many spans of downed wire, broken poles and cross arms. Our crews will be focused on safety as they address these hazards and work to restore service.”
According to JCP&L’s outage map, some Toms River residents will see power restored by 6 pm on Thursday.
“We continue to assess the damage in order to provide restoration estimates, and we hope to provide those soon. When available, restoration times will be provided on our map at http://spr.ly/NJOutageMap. You can also text STAT to 544487 for an update for your residence,” the company added.
