Husband and Wife Were Reopening Restauraunt on Monday, Now Looters Destroyed It

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Brian and Beth Evans run a popular sports photography studio called Game 7 Sports Photography and a restaurant Milestone 229 in Columbus.  After the two-month-long coronavirus shut down, the couple and their business partners were finally ready to reopen the restaurant on Monday, but that’s not happening anymore.

Rioters in Columbus overnight ransacked their business, which has been shut down since March 23rd, breaking windows, tables, chairs, and stealing whatever they could from inside the building.

“We were devastated to have to temporarily close our doors March 23rd due to COVID, but were very excited to reopen this coming Monday, June 1st,” Beth Lane said.

“Unfortunately, thanks to the riots in downtown Columbus last night, we will not be reopening Monday,” she said. “The pictures do not do the destruction justice. In an attempt to protect our restaurant, my husband was inside Milestone 229 the entire time. After all the windows were gone, they watched people literally come in, steal what they wanted, and leave. I cannot believe this is real life.”

Family, friends and the community had already been booking reservations to help the Lanes get back on their feet after two months of closure.
