OCHD Report: Less Than 1% of Ocean County Residents Tested Positive So Far With COVID-19

TOMS RIVER, NJ – New statistics released today show that 0.9% of Ocean County residents have tested positive for coronavirus during the 44 days of a statewide lockdown and nearly halff of those cases were reported in Lakewood and Toms River Township.  This report does not include residents who had COVID-19 symptoms but chose not to be tested.

When it comes to fatalities, 315 have died so far in Ocean County.    61 have died in Lakewood, 56 in Brick Township, 48 in Berkeley Township and 46 in Toms River Township. Most other towns had less than 5 deaths.

These figures represent the total amount of confirmed cases and the Ocean County Health Department has not released data regarding how many people were tested negative during the ordeal.
