OKINAWA, JAPAN-U.S. Marines stationed at Marine Corps Base Okinawa have new orders, to sew protective face masks. The Marines here from the 3rd Air Delivery Platoon Landing Support Company, whose combat mission is to support Marine Corps airborne landing operations in a combat zone have traded in their combat gear and issued sewing machines to get the job done.
“Kill!” one Marine can be heard saying…well, not really, but this mission is definitely a lifesaver for fellow Marines and Marine Corps families living on the Marine Corps base here in Okinawa.
The Marine Corps has those sewing machines to repair parachutes and other gear required for a successful high-altitude drop-in on your unfriendly neighbors.
