PHILADELPHIA, PA — A Powerball player in Philadelphia is holding a $1 million-winning ticket after matching five white balls in Wednesday night’s drawing, Pennsylvania Lottery officials confirmed Thursday.
The ticket, sold at ShopRite of Oxford & Levick at 6301 Oxford Avenue, hit five of the five white balls drawn — 15, 44, 63, 66, and 69 — but missed the red Powerball number 20. The lucky player wins $1 million, less applicable taxes.
The retailer that sold the jackpot-winning ticket will receive a $5,000 bonus for making the sale.
Winner remains unknown as jackpot rolls on
The Pennsylvania Lottery has not yet revealed the identity of the winner, as tickets must be claimed and validated before any information is released. Powerball prizes in Pennsylvania must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.
More than 22,700 other Powerball tickets sold across Pennsylvania also scored prizes in Wednesday’s drawing, including over 4,300 tickets with Power Play and more than 2,600 with Double Play.
The Powerball jackpot now climbs to an estimated $168 million annuity, or $77.1 million cash, for the next drawing on Saturday, April 26.
