WASHINGTON, D.C. — A late-night armed carjacking in Northeast D.C. has sparked an ongoing search for a suspect captured on surveillance footage, officials confirmed Monday.

The incident took place shortly after midnight on Monday, March 10, in the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast. According to investigators, the suspects approached a victim who was seated inside their vehicle when one of the assailants pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim exit the car.

After forcing the victim out, the suspects stole personal property and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Authorities later recovered the stolen vehicle, though the individuals responsible remain at large.

One of the suspects was recorded by a nearby surveillance camera. Images from the footage have been released in an effort to help identify the individual.
