AKRON, OH — Police are searching for two suspects who robbed a PNC Bank at gunpoint Monday afternoon, making off with cash after threatening both a security guard and a bank teller, the Akron Police Department said.

The aggravated robbery occurred around 1:50 p.m. on April 21 at the PNC Bank located at 676 E. Wilbeth Road. According to authorities, one suspect displayed a handgun and threatened the on-duty security guard while the second acted as a lookout during the robbery.

Police said the armed suspect jumped over the counter, pointed the gun at a bank teller, and demanded cash. The two men then fled through the front entrance with an undisclosed amount of money.

The robbery remains under investigation as police review surveillance footage and seek information from the public. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Authorities described the first suspect as a Black male wearing a black hat, a brown curly wig, sports goggle-style glasses, a light blue button-up shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers. He was armed with a handgun.

The second suspect, also described as a Black male, wore a tan bucket hat, a white shirt with tan and black stripes, baggy tan pants, white sneakers, and several pieces of jewelry, including gold chains and a watch on his left wrist.
