CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Mega Millions player in Ohio matched all six numbers in Friday night’s drawing, winning the $112 million jackpot with a ticket purchased at a Giant Eagle in South Euclid.

The winning ticket, sold at the store located at 4401 Mayfield Road, matched the numbers 5-13-15-17-28 and the Mega Ball 1. The lucky winner used their own number selection to hit the jackpot.

The prize marks the first Mega Millions jackpot win since the game’s redesign launched on April 5. The new format features bigger jackpots, better odds, and automatic multipliers on non-jackpot wins. Tickets cost $5 per wager and guarantee a minimum prize of $10.

The winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim the prize and must choose between an annuity of $112 million paid over 30 years or a cash option of $49.3 million before taxes.

Giant Eagle, the retailer that sold the ticket, is also eligible for a bonus for selling a jackpot-winning ticket.

Ohio’s history with Mega Millions grows

This win adds to Ohio’s strong track record with Mega Millions, where the state has now produced 22 jackpot winners and 65 second-tier winners of $1 million or more since joining the game.
