Back in action: Brick Township Teen Center reopens with ribbon cutting and new features

BRICK TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The Brick Township Teen Center has officially reopened at the Civic Plaza, welcoming students in grades 6 through 12 to a newly re-imagined facility packed with activities and supervised space.

The ribbon cutting ceremony took place Monday and was attended by Mayor Lisa Crate, members of the Township Council, Ocean County Commissioner Robert Arace, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, and local residents. The event marked the Teen Center’s return as a hub for young residents after a period of closure and renovation.

The center, now open weekdays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., provides Brick students a safe, engaging environment for after-school activities. It includes Apple computers, video and board games, puzzles, arts and crafts supplies, a foosball table, pop-a-shot basketball, and a homework area.

“This re-imagined facility offers a dedicated space for young people to use and enjoy in a supervised environment,” organizers said of the upgraded offerings, which are free to eligible Brick residents.

Located within the Civic Plaza, the Teen Center is positioned to serve as a central gathering space where students can spend time productively and socially during the week. Access is limited to students living in Brick Township and currently enrolled in middle or high school.

Community leaders expressed support for the reopening, emphasizing the importance of safe recreational spaces for youth development. No additional programming details or staffing plans were immediately released.
