WASHINGTON, D.C. A man was found fatally stabbed just before midnight Thursday in Southeast, prompting a homicide investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

Victim found unresponsive at Southeast location

Officers from the Seventh District were dispatched to the 1600 block of V Street, Southeast, following a report of an unconscious person. They arrived to find an adult male suffering from multiple puncture wounds and unresponsive at the scene.

DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital where medical staff attempted lifesaving efforts, but the victim was pronounced dead after those efforts failed.

Victim identified in ongoing homicide case



The victim was later identified as 31-year-old Michael Alanzo Jackson, who had no fixed address. Police have not released details on any suspects or a possible motive in the case.

The investigation remains open, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
