TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Thousands of brightly colored eggs will carpet the grass at Castle Park on Saturday as Toms River kicks off its annual Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by the Toms River Recreation Department.
The egg hunt will begin at 9 a.m. on April 12 at Castle Park, located at 1540 North Bay Avenue, with a rain date set for Sunday, April 13. Children will be split by age across two fields — ages 1 to 5 on Field A and ages 6 to 10 on Field B — and a designated low sensory field will also be available.
Organizers say 20,000 eggs will be hidden for children to find.
“Bring a basket to collect your eggs,” the township announced. The event will also feature music by a DJ and a visit from the Easter Bunny, who will arrive in a fire truck courtesy of the Toms River Fire Department’s “special delivery.”
Parking is available at several nearby locations, including Bey Lea Park, Youth Services, the Toms River Police Department, and Bey Lea Golf Course.
The Easter Bunny’s arrival will be coordinated with the assistance of the Toms River Police Department, ensuring a safe and festive entrance for the family-friendly celebration.
