Brooklyn liquor store sells big winning lottery ticket

BROOKLYN, NY — A top-prize TAKE 5 ticket worth $34,524 was sold in Brooklyn for the March 29 evening drawing, the New York Lottery announced Saturday.

The winning ticket was purchased at Georgetown Wines & Liquors, located at 2131 Ralph Avenue. The TAKE 5 game draws numbers from 1 through 39 and is held twice daily, at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Winners have up to one year from the drawing date to claim their prize at an official New York Lottery claim center or via mail. The identity of the winner has not yet been released.

The New York Lottery remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, having contributed $3.8 billion to New York State public education in fiscal year 2023-2024.
