TOMS RIVER-Funding cuts by the administration of Governor Phil Murphy and New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney have forced the Toms River Regional School District to cut jobs and services. Now, Lisa Natale-Contessa, a school board candidate running in this year’s election is asking residents of Toms River to take a few minutes out of their day to call Governor Phil Murphy’s office to demand Toms River schools to get its fair share of state funding returned back to the community.

“I’m a mom and a taxpayer so I have a vested interest in my town and our schools. Trenton’s decision to unfairly reduce Toms River’s fair share of funding has spurred me to get off the sidelines and get involved. I’m fighting for our fair share of tax dollars and I’m fighting for our kids,” she said. “I’m committed to bringing my education and financial experience to a board inundated with complex issues. I have quite a few ideas, that if diligently pursued, will help offset the loss of Trenton aid and stabilize school taxes.”
