Paw and order: K-9 Buck officially sworn in at Manchester council meeting

MANCHESTER, NJ — K-9 Buck, a scent detection and tracking dog with the Manchester Township Police Department, was officially sworn in during a ceremonial event at the March 24 Township Council meeting.

Although already active in the field alongside his handler, Officer Jon Meaney, Buck’s public swearing-in marked a formal introduction to the community. The ceremony took place at the Municipal Complex Courtroom earlier this week.

The duo has been working together to support law enforcement operations through tracking and detection efforts, contributing to public safety in Manchester.

“Although Buck has already been hard at work… this special moment made it official in front of our community,” Manchester Police shared.

Community members gathered to witness the event and show support for the K-9 unit. The department thanked attendees for their presence and continued encouragement.

The Manchester Township Police Foundation continues to accept donations to enhance training, care, and equipment for the K-9 teams.
