FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County is reeling from yet another disturbing case of a teacher accused of sexual misconduct with a student.
A grand jury has indicted Allison Havemann-Niedrach, a 44-year-old former special education teacher at Freehold Intermediate School, on multiple charges related to sexual crimes against a teenage student.
This comes just months after Justin McGhee, a 35-year-old physical education teacher at Middletown North High School, was charged with second-degree sexual assault earlier this year, raising concerns about student safety in the region’s schools.
Havemann-Niedrach, a resident of Jackson in Ocean County, faces a seven-count indictment announced by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago on Tuesday.
The charges include first-degree aggravated sexual assault, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child via the manufacture of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), two counts of second-degree endangering, second-degree official misconduct, second-degree sexual assault, and third-degree endangering. The allegations stem from an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Bureau and the Freehold Borough Police Department, which found that her alleged criminal conduct began in early 2024.
Authorities arrested Havemann-Niedrach without incident in June 2024, following reports of her inappropriate relationship with a student.
The investigation uncovered evidence of a prolonged pattern of abuse, though specific details about the victim and the incidents remain confidential to protect their privacy. The case has sent shockwaves through the Freehold community, where Havemann-Niedrach had been employed since March 2022.
Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Danielle Zanzuccki, Director of the Special Victims Bureau, is prosecuting the case, while Havemann-Niedrach is represented by Freehold-based attorney Thomas Huth, Esq.
